Building use: Community Room at the Senior Center can be reserved.

Would you like to use our building? The Shoshoni Senior Center is located in central Wyoming, and we have a great space available. You can reserve the community room at the Senior Center for memorials, meetings, parties, and other functions as long as the event does not conflict with our regular operations or other scheduled events. We are not a full-service event venue, but we do have:

  • A large, open space
  • Tables and chairs
  • Access to bathrooms
  • Podium and microphone
  • An upright piano
  • Projector and wall-mounted display screen
  • Wall-mounted television with DVD player

The rental fee is $100 for businesses and fundraisers and by donation for personal use, public service events, and memorials. There is also a $50 cleaning deposit due at reservation. We will return this after the event if the Senior Center is clean and there are no damages.

In order to reserve the Senior Center, you must sign a Building Use Agreement. Additionally, all special arrangements and equipment usage must be specified in advance and approved by Senior Center office staff.

Guidelines for Senior Center Building Use:

  1. Rental Fee:      $100 for businesses and fundraisers
By Donation for personal use, public service events, and memorials
  2. A $50 cleaning deposit is also due at reservation. The deposit is refunded after the event only if these guidelines are followed and the Senior Center has been cleaned and there are no damages. You are required to clean up after your event.
  3. You must be personally present and supervise the event or activities. We will issue you a key only if necessary. You must promptly return this to office staff or a Board member.
  4. This is a smoke free building, and the use of controlled substances is prohibited. You must have proper permits and prior arrangements to serve any alcoholic beverages.
  5. No tacks, scotch tape, or anything that will damage or leave marks is to be used for decorating.
  6. For memorial services, remember that we are not a funeral home and do not offer those services. We do not plan or conduct memorial services. The body of the deceased is not to be brought into the Senior Center, but ashes in an appropriate container are allowed. What we are able to provide for a memorial service depends on the availability of volunteers.
  7. Unless otherwise arranged, you will set up tables and chairs yourself. You may not use the piano, computers, exercise equipment, pool tables, sub-kitchen, and presentation equipment unless specifically approved by Senior Center office staff and specified in writing on the Building Use Agreement form.
  8. You must supervise all children closely. Children must remain in the community room, unless accompanied by an adult to use the restroom. Do not allow children to be on or use the exercise equipment, pool tables, or piano.
  9. Return tables and chairs to how they were before your event or as otherwise specified. Only stack the chairs four high, and do not block access to the windows. Sanitize the tables, vacuum, and check the bathrooms. Place all garbage in the dumpster at the west end of the building. Check all lights, thermostats, stove, doors, etc. carefully before leaving the building.

By signing the Building Use Agreement agreement, you accept these guidelines and acknowledge that you are financially responsible for any damage or loss to the Senior Center during or because of your event. You also agree that the Senior Center shall not assume or have any responsibility for expenses, medical treatment, or compensation for any damage to persons or property which may occur in connection with the event or the use of the Senior Center.
